King Thutmose II King Thutmose II King Thutmose II is the son of King Thutmose I, Dynasty 18, New Kingdom, His reign was secured through his marriage to his half-sister, Hatshepsut, daughter of Thutmose I’s. His son, Thutmose III, succeeded. His mummy was discovered in Al-Deir El-Bahari Cache (TT 320) west of Luxor in 1881. Studies show that the king died at approximately the age of 30. Royal mummies  transported in a magnificent parade, The Pharaohs’ Golden Parade, on April 3 from the Egyptian Museum in Tahrir to the National Museum of Egyptian Civilization in Fustat.

Ramses tomb appears to light again Reopening the tomb of Ramses - During his trip to Luxor today, Dr. Khaled El Enany, Minister of Tourism and Antiquities, accompanied by Dr. Mostafa Waziry, Secretary-General of the Supreme Council of Antiquities, visited the Valley of the Kings on the west bank in Luxor, where the tomb of King Ramses I was reopened after its restoration. - Dr. Mostafa Waziry said floors were restored and walls were cleaned from remains of birds and bats. He added that existing inscriptions were restored and cleaned and the soot was removed.   - The tomb was discovered in 1817 by Giovanni Belzoni.  It is 29 meters long and consists of a short corridor that ends with a burial stone containing a granite sarcophagus.  - The most important text in it is on the left wall of the burial chamber, is the  Book of Gates, and a scene that represents the king kneeling before the spirits of Nakhon, Bi, and Hierakonpolis.   - The mummy of the king is displayed in the Luxor Museum a

Lost history in Egypt Egypt puts relentless and continuous efforts to repatriate its antiquities that were smuggled abroad. The Egyptian state and its institutions provide great support for preserving its heritage and cultural history. In that respect, the Ministry of Tourism and Antiquities, in cooperation with the Egyptian Ministry of Foreign Affairs, succeeded in retrieving an antique limestone palette dating back to the late period that was put for sale in an auction house in New York. Ancient Egyptian Palette Mr. Shaaban Abdel-Gawad, Director General of the Department of Repatriated Antiquities at the Ministry of Tourism and Antiquities, said that Ambassador Dr. Hisham Al-Naqib, the Egyptian Consul General in New York, received the artifact yesterday and it is scheduled to return to Egypt soon. He added that the recovery of this piece came after strenuous efforts by the department of the repatriated antiquities in monitoring the artifact, and to provide all evidence to New York Ci

Photo King Psusennes Mask of King Psusennes A detail of the funerary mask of King Psusennes I who reigned circa 1040-992 BCE during the 21st Dynasty of the Third Intermediate Period. It is made of thin sheets of finely chased gold inlaid with lapis lazuli, and black and white glass paste. The mask was found in the king's tomb in Tanis (modern-day San el-Hagar) in Lower Egypt and was placed directly upon his mummy. This priceless artifact is now in the "Museum of Egyptian Antiquities ", Cairo, Egypt.
